Arc Community Work Services offers supported-employment services to a targeted population of individuals with severe disabilities to enable them to obtain and maintain community-based, integrated, competitive jobs in local businesses.

Employment consultants provide on-the-job training to the supported employee and consultation to the employer for the duration of the employment agreement.

Supported-employment was designed for persons with severe disabilities.

PERSONS SERVED

Individuals considered severely disabled by Vocational Rehabilitation Services, as well as Developmentally Disabled, by the Bureau of Development Disabilities Services. Individuals with Dual Diagnosis.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

• Be 18 years of age
• Be a resident of Vigo or surrounding area
• Have not been traditionally competitively employed or have a work history that has been interrupted or intermittent as a result of the disability
• Have a recent vocational evaluation or documentation from a non-traditional employment setting which indicates the potential for success in supported work setting (i.e. work training, experience/work history from public school)
• Be medically stable
