Mission Statement

The Arc of Vigo County is committed to providing advocacy, parent support and training, respite services for families who have a family member at home with a developmental disability, a supported employment service for persons with developmental disabilities / diagnosis, and habilitation and personal assistance services for persons with developmental disabilities in order to facilitate the integration of all persons with developmental disabilities into all aspects of community living.

The purpose of The Arc Community Work Services Program is to provide whatever level of training, assistance and support that is necessary for persons with developmental disabilities to obtain and maintain paid, competitive work in an integrated community setting.

The purpose of The Arc Respite Program is to provide relief to families/primary caregivers who have a family member with a developmental disability and thus, enabling the person to stay in their home and community, keeping the family together by giving them time apart.

The purpose of The Arc Habilitation Program is to assist persons with developmental disabilities in acquiring, retaining and improving self-help, social, and adaptive skills necessary to continue residing in their home and community, while maximizing their presence in the community and enhancing the global quality of their lives.
